Landscapes of sound and musical storytelling. Composer Bryan Curt Kostors specializes in narratively driven music creation that helps tell compelling and impactful stories.

Bryan Curt Kostors is a composer, educator, performer, and filmmaker based out of Missoula, Montana. His work explores how music can be used to drive a narrative and establish a deep and meaningful connection to character and place. His music is stylistically diverse, ranging from orchestral, choral, electronic, rock and pop, and experimental.

Bryan’s work in film, commercial media, and visual media is a central part of his practice, and his music can be heard on numerous projects across a wide variety of mediums. He is a filmmaker as well, using his skills as a composer and visual media creator to tell stories intertwined with their sonic landscape.

Collaboration is a major part of Bryan’s practice, regularly working with filmmakers, choreographers, media designers, and performers. He regular performs his own music, and his orchestral works have been performed internationally.

Bryan is currently the chair of the Department of Music Composition and Theory at the University of Montana, overseeing degrees in contemporary classical composition and pop and commercial music creation.
